Listed underneath are some of the most common FiveStar appliance repair problems we encounter.
There are many potential causes for a FiveStar Range not heating properly. Here are a few of the most common problems:
Defective Ignitor
The igniter in your range draws an electrical current to get hot enough to ignite the gas in the oven’s burner. If your igniter fails, your range will be unable to heat in any capacity and will need to be replaced.
Burned-out Bake Element
Your bake element works to actively heat the oven and can be seen glowing red hot inside the oven. If the element burns out it would be impossible for the oven to heat.
Worn Out Spark Electrode
The spark electrode in your oven functions like a spark plug. As it receives power it provides a spark, igniting the gas. If the electrode is worn out, your oven will be unable to get the gas it needs to heat up.
Burnt Wire Connection
The wires located around the ignitor and oven element are vulnerable to burning out because of how close they are to the heating source. If the wiring is damaged the oven cannot maintain its heat functions properly.
When your FiveStar Range does not bake evenly, it may be caused by one of these common problems:
Burned-out Convection Element
The convection element works together with other elements to heat the air circulating inside your range. If this elements burns out the air in the oven will not heat evenly.
Broken Convection Motor
The convection motor is responsible for ensuring the convection fan circulates hot air throughout the oven. If the motor isn’t running the fan won’t circulate the air and heating will be uneven.
Burned-out Broil Element
The broil element is usually located on the top of your oven and glows red to indicate it’s working. When your broil element is malfunctioning, it will most likely be visibly damaged and cause uneven baking.
Oven Control Board
The oven control board works together with the oven sensor to regulate the temperature inside. If the oven sensor gives the board the wrong amount of resistance it can lead to food baking unevenly.
If your FiveStar Range’s temperature is not accurate, one of these common issues may be to blame:
Temperature Control Thermostat
This thermostat monitors the temperature and cycles the heat when the oven heat gets too low. If this isn’t calibrated right, the heat will not be cycled when it needs to. The result of this is an oven temperature that is either too hot or too cold.
Failed Temperature Sensor
Another potential issue could arise from the temperature sensor that works in conjunction with the thermostat. If this sensor fails to let the thermostat know the oven’s correct temperature it can make it impossible to display properly.
Broken Bake Element
Your bake element works to actively heat the oven and can be seen glowing red hot inside the oven. If the element breaks your oven won’t be able to get to reach the temperature you input.
Malfunctioning Ignitor
The igniter in your range draws an electrical current to get hot enough to ignite the gas in the oven’s burner. If your igniter fails, your range will not be able to heat or cool to your exact input.
Here are a few common reasons the light is out in your FiveStar Range:
Defective Light Assembly
The lighting inside your range is powered by the light assembly. So, there is a decent chance that if your light isn’t working the whole light assembly could be broken and would need to be replaced.
Burned-out Light Bulb
The issue could also be just that the light bulb itself has burned out. If this is the case, the repair is a lot simpler and only the bulb needs to be replaced.
Broken Light Switch
The light switch inside your oven controls when to indicate to the assembly to turn the light on. If the light switch is broken, the oven will never know to send power to the light.
Defective Touchpad
Another potential cause of a light going out is the touchpad button itself is broken. If this button is broken, there is no way for the oven to know that you have asked to turn the light on.
If your FiveStar Range is not self-cleaning properly the issue could stem from any of the following common causes:
Defective Door Lock Motor
During the range’s self-cleaning cycle, the door lock switch turns the door lock motor on to stop the oven’s door from being opened. If either the switch or the door motor is defective, the range’s cleaning cycle will not activate.
Broken Temperature Control Thermostat
A defective door switch can prevent the oven door from locking all the way. In order for the self-cleaning cycle to run, the oven door must be completely sealed.
Blown Thermal Fuse
Another issue could stem from the thermal fuse. This fuse is a safety feature that protects your oven from overheating. If this goes out your oven will be unable to self-clean because the cycle happens at high temperatures.
Malfunctioning Door Switch
If you are hearing noises while using the ice maker or water dispenser most likely the water inlet valve is being restricted by debris. This valve supplies water to the ice maker and dispenser.
